by Christian Mower on January 16, 2013

A SPOKESMAN FOR THE NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WANTS TO REMIND RESIDENTS AND VISITORS PARKING ON STATE MAINTAINED ROADS IS NOT ALLOWED DURING SNOW REMOVAL OPERATIONS.

BILL BOYNTON SAYS STATE LAW ALLOWS FOR THE TOWING OF ANY VEHICLES THAT OBSTRUCT SNOW REMOVAL OR HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS.

BOYNTON SAYS THE PROBLEM HAS COME UP IN THE WHITE MOUNTAINS AREA WHERE SOME HIKERS HEADING INTO THE MOUNTAINS HAVE HINDERED WINTER ROAD MAINTENANCE BY PARKING ON THE SIDE OF STATE ROADS.

HE STRONGLY ENCOURAGES EVERYONE TO PARK ONLY IN DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS.
