NH F&G warns about designated trails

A New Hampshire Fish and Game officer reminds snowmobile riders it’s illegal to ride off designated trails after a Concord man sustained serious injuries from a weekend crash in the North Country.

Conservation Officer Adam Cheney says 34-year-old Joshua Carlson was riding his snow machine off trail late Saturday afternoon when he fell off and hit a tree, reportedly getting a stick stuck in his head.

Conservation officers and Pittsburg Fire and Rescue responded to Stevens Rd. in Pittsburg about 4:30 p.m. Saturday after Carlson and other riders made it out to the road from the incident near Indian Stream and called for help.

45th Parallel EMS took Carlson to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.

Cheney says environmental factors and carelessness appear to be factors in the crash.
