NHSP I.D. VICTIM OF ALBANY CRASH

NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED THE VICTIM OF THURSDAY’S EARLY MORNING CRASH ON ROUTE 16 IN ALBANY AS 27-YEAR-OLD COREY BOIVIN OF GILFORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE.

TROOPER FIRST CLASS JOHN CURRAN OF TROOP E IN TAMWORTH SAYS BOIVIN WAS NORTHBOUND DRIVING A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO AROUND 6:30 A.M. WHEN HE TRIED TO PASS ANOTHER CAR IN A PASSING ZONE AND LOST CONTROL OF HIS PICKUP, RUNNING OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HITTING A TREE NEAR NICKERSON ROAD.

STATE POLICE, CONWAY FIRE AND RESCUE, TAMWORTH POLICE AND THE CARROLL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDED TO THE SCENE, WHERE A RESPONDER REPORTED FINDING BOIVIN “UNRESPONSIVE.”

THE ROAD WAS PARTIALLY CLOSED AND TRAFFIC WAS DIVERTED FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS.

CURRAN SAYS HIS INITIAL INVESTIGATION SUGGESTS SPEED, WEATHER AND ROAD CONDITIONS WERE FACTORS IN THE CRASH. CURRAN SAYS THE ROAD WAS ICY AT THE TIME.

BOIVIN’S AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BUT HE WAS NOT WEARING HIS SEATBELT.
