NO INJURIES AFTER DIESEL LEAK AT MARKET

A REDSTONE FIREFIGHTER SAYS NO ONE WAS HURT TUESDAY MORNING DURING A LEAK OF DIESEL FUEL FROM A TRUCK AT AN EAST CONWAY STORE.

BRIAN AMES SAYS REDSTONE FIREFIGHTERS, CONWAY POLICE AND NORTH CONWAY AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO TWOMBLEY’S MARKET ON EAST CONWAY ROAD SHORTLY AFTER 8:45 A.M. AFTER A REPORT OF A FUEL LEAK.

AMES SAYS A TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK DELIVERING FOOD TO THE MARKET RIPPED A HOLE IN ITS DIESEL TANK AFTER IT HIT A SNOW PLOW WHILE MANEUVERING NEAR THE STORE.

FIREFIGHTERS DRAINED THE DIESEL INTO AN OIL DRUM AND USED ABSORBENT MATERIALS TO MOP UP ABOUT FIVE GALLONS THAT HAD SPILLED.

THE TRUCK REMAINED AT THE SCENE FOR REPAIRS.

FIREFIGHTERS CLEARED THE SCENE AROUND 10 A.M.
