NO INJURIES AFTER FIRE AT WOLFEBORO HOME

A WOLFEBORO FIRE CHIEF SAYS NO ONE WAS INJURED DURING A FIRST ALARM FIRE THURSDAY NIGHT AT A RESIDENCE IN WOLFEBORO.

DEPUTY CHIEF TOM ZOTTI SAYS WOLFEBORO FIRE RESCUE RESPONDED AROUND 7:30 P.M. TO THE JOHNSON HOME AT 7 PUFFS POINT AND FOUND FIRE CLIMBING AN EXTERIOR WALL ON A GROUND LEVEL DECK.

A RESIDENT HAD KNOCKED DOWN MOST OF THE FIRE BUT IT HAD EXTENDED INSIDE THE WALL. A FIRST ALARM WAS REQUESTED SHORTLY BEFORE 7:45 P.M.

THE FIRE WAS BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL SHORTLY BEFORE 8:15 P.M. AND DAMAGE WAS CONFINED TO THE WALL AREA. THE CAUSE IS CONSIDERED ACCIDENTAL.

ZOTTI SAYS IT APPEARS TO HAVE STARTED ON THE DECK WHERE A GAS GRILL WAS BEING USED AGAINST THE EXTERIOR WALL OF THE HOME.
