THE FIRE CHIEF IN MOULTONBOROUGH SAYS THE NEW HAMPSHIRE FIRE MARSHAL’S OFFICE HAS JOINED HIS INVESTIGATION INTO WHAT CAUSED A HOUSE IN MOULTONBOROUGH TO BLOW UP WEDNESDAY MORNING.

DAVID BENGTSON SAYS HIS FIREFIGHTERS RESPONDED SHORTLY AFTER 3:15 A.M. WEDNESDAY AFTER GETTING MULTIPLE REPORTS OF EXPLOSIONS AND A FIRE ON RED HILL.

RESPONDING UNITS FOUND THE EXPLOSION HAD COMPLETELY DESTROYED A NEWLY BUILT 1,500 SQUARE FOOT HOME ON THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF RED HILL AT LINDA’S WAY – AND LEFT PILES OF BURNING DEBRIS.

A FIRST ALARM WAS DECLARED AND FIREFIGHTERS FROM CENTER HARBOR, MEREDITH, HOLDERNESS AND SANDWICH RESPONDED.

OFFICIALS QUICKLY LEARNED FROM THE HOMEOWNER NO ONE WAS INSIDE THE VACATION HOME, LOCATED AT A HIGH ELEVATION AT THE END OF A 2,500 FOOT DRIVEWAY.

NO ONE WAS HURT. FIREFIGHTERS CLEARED THE SCENE SHORTLY BEFORE 10 A.M. WEDNESDAY.
