ONE HOSPITALIZED AFTER CAR CRASH IN NORTH CONWAY

CONWAY POLICE SAY A 63-YEAR-OLD CONWAY WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL IN NORTH CONWAY TUESDAY MORNING AFTER A 2-VEHICLE COLLISION ON NORTH SOUTH ROAD.

NORTH CONWAY FIRE RESCUE AND NORTH CONWAY AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO THE SCENE NEAR ARTIST FALLS ROAD SHORTLY AFTER 9:45 A.M.

CONWAY POLICE LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS THE INITIAL INVESTIGATION SHOWS 66-YEAR-OLD JANICE DIPAOLA OF NORTH CONWAY WAS DRIVING A SILVER 2008 JEEP LIBERTY WEST ON ARTIST FALLS RD. AND PULLED OUT ONTO NORTH SOUTH RD. – ALLEGEDLY FAILING TO YIELD – WHILE KATHY MESERVE OF CONWAY WAS DRIVING SOUTHBOUND IN A 1998 CHRYSLER SEBRING.

MESERVE WAS HIT NEAR HER DOOR AND NORTH CONWAY FIRE CHIEF PAT PREECE SAYS FIREFIGHTERS USED “SPREADERS” TO CUT HER FREE. SHE SUFFERED AN INJURY TO HER LEG AND WAS PACKAGED AND TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.

DIPAOLA COMPLAINED OF AN INJURY TO HER ARM BUT APPARENTLY DID NOT REQUIRE HOSPITALIZATION.

THE ROAD WAS CLOSED NEAR THE SCENE FOR A LITTLE MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR AND RE-OPENED SHORTLY BEFORE 10:30 A.M.
