ONE INJURED IN TUFTONBORO BOAT CRASH

THE NEW HAMPSHIRE MARINE PATROL SAYS A MAN INJURED HIS HIP AFTER THE BOAT HE WAS RIDING IN HIT A FALLEN TREE ON LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE LATE FRIDAY NIGHT.

OFFICER JOHN BYETTE SAYS THE PATROL GOT A CALL JUST AFTER 10:15 P.M. AND ON ARRIVAL NEAR BARBER’S POLE IN TUFTONBORO OFFICERS FOUND A BOAT WITH THREE MEN ABOARD IT THAT HAD HIT A FALLEN TREE ABOUT 10 FEET FROM THE SHORE.

THE INJURED MAN WAS TAKEN TO HUGGINS HOSPITAL IN WOLFEBORO.

THE OTHER TWO OCCUPANTS WERE NOT HURT, ALTHOUGH THE BOAT WAS HEAVILY DAMAGED.

BYETTE SAYS THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH IS BEING INVESTIGATED BUT ALCOHOL WAS NOT A FACTOR.

TUFTONBORO POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS ASSISTED.
