The longtime finance director for the town of Conway is being praised by town officials as she nears her retirement.

Conway Town Manager Earl Sires says Lucy Philbrick has worked for the town for more than 20 years, mostly as Finance Director – and she has been a key member of his management team in planning the town’s financial strategy, preparing budgets and ensuring the town’s books are kept accurately.

Sires says Philbrick’s excellence was proved every year as an outside audit firm found the town’s books to be in good order.

He expects Conway selectmen will formally recognize her for her years of service.

Philbrick is due to retire at the end of January, 2014.

Members of the public are invited to a community open house at the Conway Town Hall Jan. 23, 2014 from 2 – 5 p.m. to celebrate her career and retirement.
