CONWAY POLICE URGE RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS AFTER A SERIES OF RECENT BURGLARIES.

IN THE FIRST INCIDENT, LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS OFFICERS RESPONDED APRIL 28, 2013 TO A REPORTED BURGLARY AT 150 TASKER HILL RD. IN CONWAY. INVESTIGATORS DETERMINED THE RESIDENCE HAD BEEN ENTERED THROUGH A GARAGE DOOR AND SEVERAL ITEMS WERE TAKEN, INCLUDING AN AIR COMPRESSOR AND A MOUNTAIN BIKE.

TWO DAYS LATER CONWAY DETECTIVES SAY THEY FOUND THOSE ITEMS AT A RESIDENCE ON SUMMER LANE IN MADISON, WHERE THEY ARRESTED 23-YEAR-OLD JOSHUA MULLINS OF MADISON.

MULLINS IS CHARGED WITH FOUR FELONIES – INCLUDING TWO COUNTS OF BURGLARY, ONE COUNT OF RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY AND ONE COUNT OF FALSIFYING PHYSICAL EVIDENCE – IN CONNECTION WITH THE TASKER HILL RD. BURGLARY AND ANOTHER ONE AT 592 EATON RD. IN CONWAY.

MULLINS APPEARED IN COURT WEDNESDAY, MAY 1, 2013 AND WAS RELEASED ON PERSONAL RECOGNIZANCE BAIL, WITH ANOTHER COURT DATE SET FOR MAY 14, 2013.

THAT SAME DAY, PERLEY SAYS OFFICERS RESPONDED TO A REPORTED BURGLARY AT 49 POLLARD ST. IN CONWAY AND DISCOVERED JEWELRY AND SEVERAL PIECES OF ELECTRONICS WERE MISSING FROM THE RESIDENCE. THE NEXT DAY, POLICE AGAIN RESPONDED TO THE AREA – TO 39 POLLARD ST. – WHERE THEY DISCOVERED SIMILAR ITEMS HAD BEEN TAKEN.

THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF FORCED ENTRY INTO EITHER ADDRESS.

LATER THAT AFTERNOON ON MAY 2, 2013 POLICE ARRESTED 25-YEAR-OLD DUSTIN LOCKE OF CONWAY ON UNRELATED WARRANTS. PERLEY SAYS LOCKE ALLEGEDLY HAD ITEMS ON HIM MISSING FROM THE POLLARD ST. BURGLARIES AND OTHER MISSING ITEMS WERE RECOVERED FROM AN ABANDONED HOUSE ON EAST MAIN ST. IN CONWAY WHERE IT’S BELIEVED LOCKE WAS SQUATTING.

LOCKE WAS RELEASED ON PERSONAL RECOGNIZANCE BAIL BUT FACES SEVERAL FELONY CHARGES IN CONNECTION WITH THE BURGLARIES. HE’S SCHEDULED TO APPEAR IN COURT AGAIN MAY 14, 2013.

PERLEY SAYS THE BEST DEFENSE AGAINST BURGLARIES IS TO LOCK YOUR HOME AND VEHICLES – AND REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES OR INDIVIDUALS TO POLICE.
