ARMED ROBBERY IN NORTH CONWAY

CONWAY POLICE RESPONDED TO SEAVEY STREET IN NORTH CONWAY TUESDAY AFTERNOON AFTER A REPORT OF A SHOOTING.

POLICE SAY NO FIREARMS WERE INVOLVED.

NORTH CONWAY FIRE AND RESCUE AND NORTH CONWAY AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO 23 SEAVEY STREET SHORTLY BEFORE 3 P.M. AFTER A REPORT TWO VICTIMS THERE HAD BEEN PEPPER SPRAYED.

POLICE SAY THE VICTIM – IDENTIFIED AS A. J. DISILVA – WAS CONDUCTING BUSINESS AT THE LAW OFFICES OF UPTON AND HATFIELD AND AS HE ENTERED THE OFFICES A MASKED ASSAILANT FIRED A WEAPON AND GRABBED A SUM OF CASH FROM HIM.

DISILVA AND A AN EMPLOYEE OF THE LAW FIRM WERE TAKEN TO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NORTH CONWAY AS A PRECAUTION AND LATER RELEASED AFTER IT WAS DETERMINED THEY WERE NOT INJURED.

CHIEF ED WAGNER SAYS POLICE SEARCHED IN THE MECHANIC STREET AREA FOR A SUSPECT DESCRIBED TO BE OF THIN BUILD, ABOUT 5 FEET 10 INCHES TALL, WEARING A BLUE HOODED SWEATSHIRT AND JEANS.

THE SUSPECT WAS BELIEVED TO BE ON FOOT.

SEAVEY STREET WAS CLOSED IN THE VICINITY OF THE INCIDENT AND AUTHORITIES AT A NEARBY SCHOOL WERE NOTIFIED.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE TROOPERS ASSISTED CONWAY POLICE.

WAGNER SAYS IT DOESN’T APPEAR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE IN DANGER BUT IT’S ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO BE VIGILANT AND BE ON THE LOOKOUT.
