SAU 13 SELECTS NEW SUPERINTENDENT

by Christian Mower on February 29, 2012

MEMBERS OF THE SAU 13 JOINT BOARD HAVE UNANIMOUSLY AGREED ON A CHOICE FOR THEIR NEXT SUPERINTENDENT.

BOARD CHAIR RAY O’BRIEN SAYS LOUIS GOSCINSKI EMERGED AS THE FINALIST AFTER A SEARCH LASTING SEVERAL MONTHS AND INTERVIEWS WITH A NUMBER OF HIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES.

SAU 13 INCLUDES ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN MADISON AND FREEDOM AND THE KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 8TH GRADE K.A. BRETT SCHOOL IN TAMWORTH.

GOSCINSKI HAS SERVED FOR MORE THAN A DECADE AS DIRECTOR OF PUPIL SERVICES FOR SAU 45 – THE MOULTONBOROUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT – AND AS ACTING SUPERINTENDENT, WHEN REQUIRED.

O’BRIEN SAYS HE IS A CERTIFIED SUPERINTENDENT AND AN EXPERIENCED CENTRAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR AND EDUCATOR.

GOSCINKSI WILL REPLACE OUTGOING SUPERINTENDENT JAY MCINTIRE, WHO HAS ANNOUNCED HIS INTENTION TO STEP DOWN BY JUNE 30, 2012.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF GOSCINSKI’S SELECTION COMES JUST TWO WEEKS BEFORE MADISON VOTERS DECIDE WHETHER TO REMAIN IN SAU 13 OR RE-JOIN SAU 9.

TEACHERS AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WILL GET A CHANCE TO MEET GOSCINSKI TUESDAY, MARCH 6 AS HE VISITS ALL THREE SCHOOLS IN SAU 13 AND ATTENDS AN EVENING COMMUNITY FORUM AT THE K.A. BRETT SCHOOL.

O’BRIEN SAYS HE EXPECTS A CONTRACT WILL BE READY FOR GOSCINSKI TO SIGN SOON.
