by Christian Mower on April 11, 2013

THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SAU 9 SAYS HE APPRECIATES CONWAY VOTERS APPROVING THE SCHOOL BUDGET IN VOTING TUESDAY.

BUT DR. CARL NELSON SAYS HE’S DISAPPOINTED ARTICLE 7 – THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT TO INCREASE SALARIES AND BENEFITS AT CURRENT STAFFING LEVELS – WAS VOTED DOWN.

NELSON SAYS HE UNDERSTANDS THE ECONOMY AS A FACTOR BUT THOUGHT THE INCREASE REQUESTED IN THE ARTICLE WAS MODEST.

HE SAYS HE’LL BE TALKING TO THE UNION – THE CONWAY EDUCATION ASSOC. NEGOTIATION TEAM – ABOUT HOW TO PROCEED.

NELSON SAYS IT’S POSSIBLE ANY ATTEMPT TO INCREASE PAY AND BENEFITS MAY BE DELAYED FOR A YEAR.
