Scarlet Begonias Radio 7-17-10

This week it’s the third half of the latest release from the Grateful Dead’s official recordings vault: Road Trips, Volume 3, Number 3. These recordings were made on the 14th and 15th of May in 1970. While most of the release covers the show on the 15th at Fillmore East, this week we’ll be hearing the Bonus Disc, that includes the recording from May 14th, at Meramec College in Kirkwood, Missouri. The Bonus Disc was available to the first wave of orders for this release but supplies have run out, so the only place to hear it now is on Scarlet Begonias Radio. For Killer Filler, we revisit a free Government Mule appearance at a record store (look it up, kids) in Seattle, Washington called Easy Street Records. It has one of my favorite post-Garcia versions of “That’s What Love Will Make You Do” and just plain rocks throughout.
