U.S. REP. CAROL SHEA-PORTER IS SCHEDULED TO BE IN THE VALLEY AREA FRIDAY, OCT. 25, 2013.

A SPOKESMAN SAYS SHE WILL TOUR THE WHITE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL FOREST IN THE AFTERNOON TO DISCUSS THE IMPACT OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN AND SEQUESTRATION ON NEW HAMPSHIRE’S ECONOMY.

BEN WAKANA SAYS SHEA-PORTER HAS CONSISTENTLY FOUGHT TO PROTECT NEW HAMPSHIRE’S ENVIRONMENT AND THE IMPORTANT ROLE IT PLAYS IN THE STATE’S ECONOMY.

SHEA-PORTER SENT A LETTER TO THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE EARLIER IN EARLY OCTOBER, 2013 URGING THE AGENCY TO ALLOW NEARLY TWO DOZEN PRIVATELY RUN CAMPGROUNDS IN THE WHITE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL FOREST TO RE-OPEN AND CONTINUE OPERATING DURING THE SHUTDOWN.

PRIOR TO MEETING WITH FOREST OFFICIALS, SHEA-PORTER WILL MEET WITH THE MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO TALK ABOUT THE VALLEY’S ECONOMY AND HOW SHE CAN SUPPORT JOB CREATION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE VALLEY.
