SUSPECT CHARGED ICW HARRISON BANK HEIST

POLICE SAY THEY’RE HOLDING A 35-YEAR-OLD HOMELESS MAN FROM PORTLAND IN CONNECTION WITH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON’S ROBBERY OF A BANK IN HARRISON, MAINE.

CAPT. DON GOULET OF THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS MOSS McCOLE WAS ARRESTED AT 317 EDES FALLS RD., IN HARRISON AND IS CHARGED WITH ROBBERY.

HE’S BEING HELD AT THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY JAIL.

GOULET SAYS AN ALARM CAME IN SHORTLY BEFORE 4 P.M. WEDNESDAY FROM THE NORTHEAST BANK IN HARRISON. A MAINE STATE TROOPER FIRST RESPONDED TO THE BANK, FOLLOWED BY A ONE OF GOULET’S DEPUTIES.

GOULET SAYS BANK CUSTOMERS AND WORKERS PROVIDED A DESCRIPTION OF THE SUSPECT AND THE VEHICLE HE ALLEGEDLY USED.

McCOLE ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED ONE OF THE CUSTOMERS WHILE IN THE BANK, WHO WAS NOT HURT, BEFORE ESCAPING WITH AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF MONEY. NO WEAPON WAS DISPLAYED OR THREATENED.

McCOLE WILL BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT IN PORTLAND.
