TEXAS TEEN INJURED IN LOVELL, MAINE BOAT CRASH

THE MAINE WARDEN SERVICE SAYS A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL FROM TEXAS SUFFERED A SEVERE INJURY TO HER LEG TUESDAY AFTERNOON AFTER HER FAMILY’S BOAT HIT AN UNDERWATER ROCK ON KEZAR LAKE IN LOVELL.

ABBY MUELLER OF HOUSTON WAS EJECTED FROM THE 24-FOOT POWERBOAT SHORTLY BEFORE 3 P.M. AND THEN RUN OVER BY THE BOAT’S PROPELLER.

SHE WAS FLOWN TO A HOSPITAL IN BOSTON. HER CURRENT CONDITION IS NOT KNOWN.

THE WARDEN SERVICE SAYS THE GIRL’S FATHER – 44-YEAR-OLD ROBERT MUELLER – HAD FIVE CHILDREN WITH HIM ON THE BOAT – ONE BEING TOWED ON A TUBE – WHEN HE HIT THE ROCK INSIDE AN AREA MARKED WITH HAZARD BUOYS.

ROBERT MUELLER WAS SLIGHTLY INJURED IN THE CRASH. HE IS THE FATHER OF THREE OF THE CHILDREN – THE TWO OTHERS ARE FAMILY COUSINS FROM WOODSTOCK, CONN.

OFFICIALS DON’T BELIEVE ALCOHOL WAS INVOLVED.
