TIME WARNER CABLE REPORTS AGREEMENT WITH HEARST

by Christian Mower on July 20, 2012

A SPOKESMAN FOR TIME WARNER CABLE IN PORTLAND, MAINE SAYS CABLE SUBSCRIBERS CAN EXPECT PROGRAMMING FROM HEARST TELEVISION “TO BE RESTORED SHORTLY” AFTER THE CABLE COMPANY REACHED A LONG TERM AGREEMENT WITH HEARST.

IN A PRESS RELEASE LATE THURSDAY NIGHT, ANDREW RUSSELL SAYS TIME WARNER THANKS “OUR CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR PATIENCE AND THEIR WILLINGNESS TO STICK WITH US THROUGH ANOTHER UNNECESSARY BROADCASTER BLACKOUT.”

HEARST HAD PULLED ITS PROGRAMMING FROM TIME WARNER CABLE – INCLUDING LOCAL ABC AFFILIATES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE – OVER A DISPUTE ABOUT ITS DEMAND FOR HIGHER FEES FOR ITS PROGRAMMING.

DETAILS OF THE AGREEMENT HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED.
