Two People Injured In Denmark After Lightning Struck The Same Area Twice

Denmark M.E. – It’s said that lightning never strikes the same place twice but in Denmark Maine Sunday it got very close. According to Fire official’s two people were injured after a home and surrounding property were hit at least twice by lightning in Denmark. Denmark Fire Chief Dana Costello said the first victim was sitting in his car when lightning struck a utility pole, causing it to fall onto the vehicle. When a firefighter attempted to help the motorist onto a porch, the home was hit by lightning, injuring the firefighter. The Chief said neither victim suffered a direct lightning hit. They were treated at Bridgton Hospital and released.
