Wednesday Dec. 22 at 6:30pm Blues Up ‘n Comer Kirsten Thien
The Blues Summit desk receives about 250 Blues CDs per year. Sometimes at first listen, you know you’ve got something special! That’s what happened with New York Blues woman Kirsten Thien. Kirsten has lived in Maine AND has skied in the Mount Washington Valley!

Delicious (Screen Door), her latest release, finds Thien alternately ripping and seducing her way through an eleven-song set. Producer Erik Boyd (bass) masterfully blends the foundation of the core road band consisting of David Patterson (guitar), Johnny Pisano (bass) and Dylan Wissing (drums), together with NYC session cats Steve Holley (drums), Tommy Mandel (keyboard and Hammond organ), Kent Smith (trumpet), Andy Snitzer (saxophone) and Mike Freeman (vibraphone). Adding to the mix are veteran blues heavyweights Arthur Neilson (guitar), Billy Gibson (harmonica) and Hubert Sumlin (guitar). The return of Grammy-nominated recording and mixing engineer Dan Myers rounds out the team.

Wednesday Nov. 17 at 6:30pm. Making his 3rd appearance as a guest on the Blues Summit, we were honored to have Buddy Guy back on the show!
The wait is over for Buddy Guy’s newest release “Living Proof.” The latest in Buddy’s blues collection that USA Today just gave 3.5 out of 4 stars is now available in stores. Make sure you pick up “Living Proof” to get tracks like the historic duet “Stay Around A Little Longer” feat. B.B. King and “Where The Blues Begins” with Carlos Santana. Buddy is always a warm & engaging interview!

Wednesday Oct. 27/Nov. 3 at 6:30pm. We checked in with west coast Blues players, Cathy Lemons and Johnny Ace. They’ve been playing the Blues for years and have a new album on the Vizztone Label Group, “lemonace“. It’s a good one! Lots of guest stars on the CD too, like Tommy Castro, David Maxwell, Kid Andersen & Paul Oscher! Turned into a two part interview which was great!

Wednesday Sept. 15 at 6:30pm. Phoenix Harmonica maestro. My good friend Bob Corritore! Bob talked up his new Blues Summit Chart topping CD, ” Bob Corritore & Friends“. What friends he has! Bob has his own Blues radio program, Those Lowdown Blues on KJZZ, and owns Phoenix’s famous Blues club, The Rhythm Room.
It Was GREAT to have him back on the show! Thanks Bob. Visit the blog often for info on more interviews on the Blues Summit.
