MARTI MAYNE SAYS SOME AREAS OF THE VALLEY GOT MORE THAN SIX FEET OF SNOW FROM LATE DECEMBER, 2012 STORMS THAT UNLEASHED A PENT-UP DESIRE TO SKI, SNOWMOBILE, CELEBRATE AND EXPERIENCE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE.

MAYNE SAYS EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED TO HER SURVEY REPORTS SALES WERE UP OVER 2011.

OWNERS AND MANAGERS OF LODGING ESTABLISHMENTS REPORTED BETTER HOLIDAY WEEK SALES WELL OVER 2011 – SOME VALLEY ORIGINAL RESTAURANTS REPORTED DOING A BRISK BUSINESS, WITH TOM KUGEL OF CAFÉ NOCHE IN CONWAY SAYING HIS BUSINESS WAS UP 10 PER CENT AND CORRINE ROBER OF THE MARGARITA GRILL IN GLEN REPORTING HER NEW YEAR’S EVE NUMBERS DOUBLED LAST YEAR’S – CALLING THE VACATION WEEKS “ICING ON THE CAKE” TO A YEAR THAT FINISHED UP 25 PER CENT OVER 2011.
