VOTING FOR SOME WESTERN MAINE TOWNS

TUESDAY IS VOTING DAY FOR SOME TOWNS IN WESTERN MAINE.

VOTERS IN FRYEBURG WILL DECIDE IF THE TOWN WILL KEEP ITS OWN POLICE DEPARTMENT OR CONTRACT WITH THE OXFORD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE FOR COVERAGE.

FRYEBURG VOTERS WILL ALSO ELECT TOWN OFFICERS AND DETERMINE THE STATUS OF THE FRYEBURG WATER DISTRICT.

POLLS ARE OPEN UNTIL 8 P.M. AT THE AMERICAN LEGION HALL ON BRADLEY ST.

FRYEBURG VOTERS WILL RECONVENE THURSDAY AT 6 P.M. AT FRYEBURG ACADEMY’S LEURA HILL EASTMAN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER ON BRADLEY ST. FOR TOWN MEETING, TO CONSIDER ARTICLES FOUR THROUGH 46.

VOTERS IN BRIDGTON ALSO GO TO THE POLLS TUESDAY TO ELECT TOWN OFFICERS. VOTING WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE TOWN HALL AT 26 NORTH HIGH STREET UNTIL 8 P.M.

LIKE OTHER TOWNS IN MAINE, BRIDGTON VOTERS WILL CONSIDER WHETHER TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION AS TO WHETHER TAR SANDS OIL CAN BE PIPED THROUGH THE TOWN. VOTERS WILL ALSO CONSIDER A FIREWORKS ORDINANCE AND A NON-BINDING QUESTION ASKING HOW THE TOWN WOULD LIKE SELECTMEN TO PROCEED WITH THE PROPERTY AT SALMON POINT.

BRIDGTON VOTERS WILL RECONVENE WEDNESDAY AT 7 P.M. AT THE TOWN HALL TO FINISH TOWN MEETING BUSINESS.
