Wrestling To Help A Fryeburg Family

by Christian Mower on November 5, 2015

Ryan-Michaels-Colson A battle of the Behemoths is happening this weekend to help out a great cause. When the Ryan Michaels Colson Cares Foundation heard about two local girls from Fryeburg, ages 5 and 10, who were facing the possibility of losing their father they stepped in to help.  26-year-old Stephen Warren of Fryeburg was diagnosed three years ago with a glioma brain tumor and was told in March that he has less than one year to live. Unfortunately these girls do not have the luxury of an active mother in their lives, so when Stephen passes they will be living with his mother, their grandmother. Stephen’s dying wish is to know that his little girls will be taken care of when his time comes.

The Ryan Michaels Colson Cares Foundation wanted to help make this wish come true, so they are hosting a Global Independent Wrestling match at Oxford Hills High School in South Paris, Maine this Saturday. The battle to see who is the true King of the Hills will pit wrestlers from all over New England including John Cena Sr., Luke Robinson, and WWE Hall of Famer “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas. The History Channel’s Down East Dickering guys will be making a special appearance as well.

Tickets are just are $12, and donations are welcome. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the event scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Guests will get chances to take photos with the wrestlers, enjoy live music, and of course a Battle Royale to see who is the real King of the Oxford Hills!

Presale tickets are available at Shaker Hill Outdoors in Poland, ME or by contacting Mike Turner at (207) 329-4375. For more details click here
