Berlin Man Dead After Rollover in Gorham

 

GORHAM, NH – A Berlin man is dead after a rollover in Gorham yesterday.

Gorham Police said that 60-year-old Maurice Giroux was headed north in his Ford F-250 on Route 16 near the Cascade Flats Intersection when he attempted to pass a 2016 Ford F-350 Truck being Driven by 35-year-old John Mackenzie of Berlin.

Giroux struck the front of Mackenzies truck causing him to lose control of his vehicle and rolling over. Giroux was thrown from the vehicle, suffering life-threatening injuries.

Police said that when they arrived on scene Giroux’s truck was on its roof in the middle of the road.

Giroux was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital where he later died.

Police said that they believe Giroux was traveling at a high rate of speed in the 40 mile per hour zone. They consider speed a factor in the crash but the accident remains under investigation.
